Toronto Food + Drink Market 2016: You’ll eat it right up

Widely known as Toronto’s number one food, wine and hospitality event, this year’s Toronto Food + Drink Market will run from April 8th to 10th at the Enercare Centre down by Exhibition Place. It’s all about eating, drinking, learning and shopping as you explore all of this year’s mouth-watering displays. Here are a few exhibits you gotta check out.

Returning from last year will be one of the most tantalizing and popular exhibits; Food Truck Alley. For those unfamiliar with this concept, the market will showcase the newest up and coming food trucks by laying them all out for you to enjoy in one convenient spot. The food trucks in this year’s edition include: I Love Lasagna, Bake Three Fifty (customizable cookies and cupcakes), Tdot’s Naansense (Indian fusion cuisine), Funnel Cake Express, and Chimney Stax (sweet and savory bread made fresh). Take a stroll down Food Truck Alley throughout each day of the market from 12:00PM to 5:00PM.

The All You Need Is Cheese exhibit is much anticipated at this year’s market as well. Cheese experts and the Dairy Farmers of Ontario will present tasty recipes and so much more. Look for the Canadian Cheese Counter in order to taste and purchase different cheeses put forth by local cheese makers. These specialists will also give you cooking tips on everything from pizza to mac & cheese and fondue.  True cheese connoisseurs can take a cheese personality quiz and other trivia challenges to win a basket filled with some of Canada’s best dairy treats. This deliciously informative exhibit will stimulate taste buds and minds.

Over on the demonstration stage, the market will offer a series of Tutored Tasting presentations throughout each day. Turn up the heat with Pepper North, an award-winning hot sauce maker, who’ll be showing you how to use unique flavour combinations and ingredients to appropriately match your hors d’oeuvres to hot peppers. Also be sure to catch John Park, The Funny Waiter, as he entertains you with a mouthful of quirky routines. You might see a few marshmallows fly through the air. You might see a couple of plates spinning on some thin wooden sticks. You’ll just have to see for yourself any other antics the Funny Waiter gets into.
